Charger maker i-charging announced Intertek ETL certification for its i-light heavy-duty charger in early August 2026. The approval clears a safety barrier to selling a 1.5 MW unit in the United States and Canada. It covers UL 2202 and UL 2231 in the United States and CSA C22.2 No. 346 in Canada. The company runs dual headquarters in Porto, Portugal and Atlanta, Georgia. It has named no first North American customer and no deployment date.

ETL certification confirms that high-power DC charging equipment meets the electrical safety standards US and Canadian authorities recognize. Site developers need that independent validation before they install the hardware. Local permits and inspections still apply, so the certification shortens one step rather than the whole queue.
