Ubiik, a Taiwan-based developer of wireless communication systems for utilities, announced on July 22, 2025 that it had secured four new Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) contracts from Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) since September 2024, totaling US$36.5 million. Ubiik’s network currently processes more than 5 million meter readings per hour across live deployments in Taiwan. Each smart meter in the Taipower AMI system captures consumption data, voltage levels, and power quality parameters at 15-minute intervals, feeding a central data management system that utilities use to detect outages, identify theft, manage demand, and plan infrastructure investment.
