OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital broke ground on a major expansion in Dublin, Ohio, hosting a groundbreaking ceremony on February 26, 2026, according to an OhioHealth newsroom release and reporting by Healthcare Design Magazine. The project adds two floors to the existing four-story facility and renovates its lower floors, raising licensed inpatient capacity to 96 beds.
What Was Announced
According to OhioHealth, the project includes a new patient tower plus renovations to the hospital’s first and second floors to support the vertical build. Dublin Methodist currently operates as a four-floor, 92-bed acute-care facility; the new tower brings the total to six floors and increases capacity to 96 inpatient beds, not counting obstetric beds. Of those, 48 beds will be available for immediate use while the remaining 48 are shelled for future need.
Healthcare Design Magazine reported that the completed facility will total 185,700 square feet, including 58,150 square feet of renovated space, with the work expected to be finished in 2029. OhioHealth said the expansion is designed to increase critical-care capacity, expand vascular interventional radiology, grow heart, vascular, and surgical services, and support the hospital’s Level III Trauma Program. Whiting-Turner and Design Group are among the named project partners, alongside the City of Dublin and Mayor Chris Amorose Groomes.
